Description
The decision template enables
- a common orientation of the stakeholders and coordination between the various interest groups
- a common point of reference at a later stage
- transparency about decisions taken
- assess the importance and urgency of a decision
- communicate different options and identify the most appropriate one
- the elimination of recurring discussions about issues that have already been decided.
And this is how it works:
1.Identification of key stakeholders:
- Driver:in: Who has an interest/need in the decision?
- Financier:in: Where does the money come from?
- Decision-maker:in: Who can make the decision?
The driver is identified and fills out the decision template.
2. Prioritization & description of the topic:
The driver collects information from various stakeholders and experts to evaluate the prioritization and describe the topic.
- Decisive point in time
When do we need the decision?
Will the company value decrease over time if we make the decision later?
- Enterprise value:
Why do we need a decision?
- Development of opportunities / risk minimization
What risks will be minimized by this decision?
Does this decision enable new business opportunities/improve the business?
3. Variants & impacts:
The driver works out different variants, including their effects, that are possible and presents the variants to the relevant decision-makers. In addition, he/she makes a personal recommendation as to which variant he/she would propose with appropriate justification.
4. Decision:
The decision, including the justification for a variant, is made and documented.
